Dr. Robert Edward “Ted” Kennon earned his bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech University and his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine (1999), both in Atlanta. He then completed a general surgery internship at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a residency in orthopaedic surgery in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation of the Yale University School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut (2004). Dr. Kennon continued his training with a prestigious fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction with the Keggi Orthopaedic Foundation in 2005.
Board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Kennon maintains privileges at the Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute (CJRI) at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Naugatuck Valley Surgical Center in Waterbury, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury.
Dr. Kennon is a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society and New Haven County Medical Association, as well as a fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
A frequent presenter at medical conferences and courses throughout the country, Dr. Kennon has written numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals, worked on implant design, and lectured on minimally invasive anterior hip replacement and knee replacement techniques.
